Leipzig locomotive

The Leipzig Locomotive with the subtitle Volksblatt for Daily History Entertainment first appeared on January 4, 1843. According to the information on the title page, the circulation was 4,500 copies. The newspaper appeared on Wednesdays.

The weekly newspaper was published by Friedrich Wilhelm Held (1813–1872), a journalist, writer and politician, in the Reclam publishing house in Leipzig .

In June 1843, the Leipzig locomotive had its license withdrawn by the Saxon press police because of democratic rebellion . The last edition was 20,000 copies.
