Achievement badge of the barracked people's police

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The achievement badge of the barracked people's police was a state award of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated on April 28, 1954 in one step. The achievement badge honored excellent achievements in military and political training and also excellent achievements for the best movement. After the founding of the National People's Army (NVA), the KVP's badge was replaced by the newly created badge of the National People's Army and no longer awarded.

Appearance and wearing style

The bronze badge with the dimensions 32.5 × 42 mm has the shape of a tapering shield and is surmounted on its upper side by two broad oak leaves, each with a pair of acorns, which are a total of 12 mm high. The oak leaves run towards each other and meet in the middle with their leaf tips. The sign itself shows the four-line inscription: KVP / FÜR / AUSGEZEICHNETE / LEISTUNGEN , whereby the letters KVP are 3 mm high and the rest 2 mm. The back of the badge is kept smooth and showed in its first award a four-digit award number stamped or hammered in, but this was abandoned a little later, as well as a horizontally positioned needle with a locking hook. The badge was usually worn on the upper right chest.
