Lemon Squeezer

The lemon squeezer.

The Lemon Squeezer (German: lemon squeezer ) is an unusual rock formation in Harriman State Park in the US state of New York . It is located at the base of Island Pond Mountain at the junction of the Appalachian Trail , which is marked on site by white markings , and the Arden-Surebridge Trail , the route of which is indicated to hikers by red triangles.

The trail initially passes under a gigantic boulder that rests uncertainly on other rocks. After you have passed this point, it becomes clear where the Lemon Squeezer got its name from: The hiker suddenly has to squeeze through a path that is one meter high and 30 centimeters wide and has an incline of 15 degrees. Behind it there are other interesting rock formations: Pine trees grow on a thin rock roof above the path (in the picture opposite).
