Henry Scheffer (born September 25, 1798 in The Hague , † March 15, 1862 in Paris ) was a French painter of Dutch origin.
Life
Scheffer is the son of the painter Jean-Baptiste Scheffer and his wife, the miniature painter Cornelia Lamme . The painter Ary Scheffer is his brother.
The painter Arnold Ary Scheffer is the son of Henry Scheffer and one daughter later married the writer Ernest Renan .
Scheffer was a student of Comte Pierre Narcisse Guérin . He worked as a history , genre and portrait painter.
