Leo Bazant-Hegemark

Leo Bazant-Hegemark (* 1945 ) is an Austrian classical philologist .

Life

After graduating from the Biondekgasse high school in Baden near Vienna in 1963 , he studied classical philology at the University of Vienna , where he worked with Rudolf Hanslik in 1969 with the dissertation Aurelii Augustini liber ad Orosium contra Priscillianistas et Origenistas sermo adversus Iudaeos liber de haeresibus ad quodvultdeum. Text and Text-Critical Apparatus received his doctorate . He acquired the teaching qualifications in Latin and Greek in 1970. From 1971 to 1973 he taught at the St. Raphael School in the USA , where he acquired an additional American teaching qualification. From 1973 until his retirement he taught in the public school system - later also computer science - at the AHS in Austria, and since 1981 at the Biondekgasse grammar school. He taught Latin and Greek at the Heiligenkreuz University of Applied Sciences (1986–1988 and since 2009). He has been a sworn and court-certified expert for the translation, interpretation and utilization of classical and ancient texts since 1987.
