Leoforos Vasileos Konstandinou

The Leoforos Vasileos Konstandinou ( Greek Λεωφόρος Βασιλέως Κωνσταντίνου ) is a main artery of the Greek main stapt Athens . The avenue runs approximately from the Panathinaiko Stadium northeast to the Hotel Hilton, where it merges into the Leoforos Vasilissis Sofias . The street is named after King Constantine I (1913–1917 and 1920–1922).

The four-lane with a wide median and has a length of about 1.1 kilometers.

The road establishes the connection between Leoforos Vasilisis Olgas and Odos Ardittou , Odos Irodou Attikou , Odos Eratosthenous , the Platia Skouzé / Odos Pafsaniou, Leoforos Vasileos Georgiou B ′ , Odos Rizari (Οδός Ριζάρη), Odos Merkouri Sofias and Leos Merkouri Spyos it forms the starting point for the Ethniki Odos 1 .

The stadium is followed by the Ethnikos Kipos park to the north and the Parko Rizari (Πάρκο Ριζάρη) to the north-east . Other small parks accompany the street.

history

The current street was laid out in the middle of the 19th century. Part of the Ilisos was paid for this . The road has always been used by vehicles of all kinds, and trolleybuses and trams also run there.
