Leopold "Poldl" Resch (* 1900 ) was an Austrian national soccer player .

Career

Poldl Resch began his football career at Wacker in 1913 at the age of thirteen , to which he remained loyal throughout his entire career, apart from a brief interlude at the Meidlinger Sportfreunde . Already in 1917 in the combat team, he played until 1929 in his parade position in the center halves with the Meidlingers. The greatest success was reaching the cup final in 1923, which went to the Wiener Sport-Club with 1: 3 . From 1922 to 1927 Poldl Resch was also a fixed point in the Austrian national team , in which he completed a total of 16 international matches.

He made his debut on January 15, 1922 in Milan against Italy , as his best international match was the 2-0 win against Czechoslovakia on March 14, 1926, in which he was able to cancel his opponent Karel Pešek-Káďa completely. Professionally, Poldl Resch initially worked in his father's trucking company, after finishing his football career, he tried his hand at the cafetier in his own Café Resch on Schönbrunner Strasse in Meidling. Nevertheless, he found the time to continue working at Wacker, he was both a manager and a member of the board and until the handover to Otto Haftl in 1937, he was also the club's coach.
