The Leppermühle is a residential home for children and young people in the Hessian town of Großen-Buseck in the Gießen district . The focus of the facility is the care and rehabilitation of people with mental illnesses from all over Germany and partly from German-speaking countries. The sponsor of the facility is the Association for Youth Welfare and Youth Care Gießen eV, which also operates other aid facilities in the Central Hessian region that cooperate with Leppermühle.
concept
The facility offers a wide range of care for mentally ill people. As a rule, admission takes place in people who have previously undergone acute clinical treatment. Mainly children, adolescents and young adults with existing or threatened mental disabilities are accepted. After intensive diagnostics , an individual treatment plan is drawn up . This can include the following areas:
- Visit to the sponsor's own Martin Luther School or the internal work training area,
- Social learning through pedagogically and therapeutically accompanied living in a tiered living concept,
- Therapy as psychotherapy, riding therapy, occupational therapy, sports therapy and moto pedagogy.
In some cases special educational support measures can be carried out. To this end, the facility works closely with regional psychiatric clinics .
The establishment
The Leppermühle children's and youth hostel has around 230 fully inpatient places (intensive and regular groups), around 40 places in the so-called training living area, 26 fully inpatient places in the mother-child care area and 43 day group places. The facility maintains a total of 25 residential groups , 5 of which are on the core site in Großen-Buseck, where the Martin Luther School is also located.
The Martin Luther School located on the core area is a state-recognized substitute school with the courses of primary, secondary and secondary school and the focus on learning. 50 teachers teach about 260 students in a total of 32 classes.
