Les Bobos [lebobo] is a song by the French singer-songwriter Renaud Séchan , which appeared on the 2006 album Rouge Sang and was composed by Jean-Pierre Bucolo .
history
In this song, Renaud defines the Bobos as a modern, self-confident layer that can be classified between the real bourgeoisie, the bourgeoisie and the proletarians. They are - "despite their elegance", despite their so tasteful style - or because of their cultural arrogance, not far from the common philistines, the so-called beaufs .
He especially mocks the affluent bon vivants of the big cities, who claim that they vote on the left but live in a bourgeois manner. They are committed to the good ( Le Bio et le Bien ) - everywhere, elsewhere in the world and lead - with appropriate luxury - a pleasant life in the city center or in the elegant suburbs. The poet admits that he himself belongs to this class of society.

Explanation of the title
The term and the buzz word "Bobo" was coined in 2000 by the Canadian columnist David Brooks .
The word became particularly well known in France after it was first used in 2001 by Raymond Barre on the occasion of an election campaign.
It became a buzzword after the success of Renaud's chanson; In 2008 and 2009 it was taken up again by the draftsman duet Dupuy-Berbérian in his comics.
