Leukippos (son of Oinomaos)
Leukippos ( ancient Greek Λεύκιππος ) is a figure in Greek mythology .
He is the son of Oinomaos and in love with the nymph Daphne , the virgin huntress. Since Daphne avoids dealing with men, he grows his hair and disguises himself as a woman. He joins her female entourage to hunt in the mountains with them. The god Apollon , who is also in love with Daphne, gives the hunting party the idea to take a bath in the Ladon River . When Leucippus refuses to undress, his companions forcibly strip him. After realizing that Leucippus is a man, they killed him with their spears.
