Lia Di Leo

Lia Di Leo (actually Alberta Alda Di Leo ; born May 15, 1924 in Foggia ) is a former Italian actress .

Life

Leo made his debut as a participant of choice for Miss Italia 1951 in the film in a small role as one of the slaves of Nero for Mervyn LeRoy in Italy turned Quo vadis? . This was followed by a short, five-year career in which the attractive, photogenic, but also cool-looking and often too controlled speaking brunette took on medium-sized and small tasks in mostly average films that did not give her a chance to stand out. Outstanding were her charming Arab woman of disturbing beauty in the superbly photographed Mizar (1953) and the film drama The Sun in the Eyes , in which Antonio Pietrangeli cast her in a smaller role.

After her film career, Di Leo was a member of the ensemble at the Piccolo Teatri di Palermo in the 1956/57 season; In the following years she left Italy with her husband, a US television producer, and moved to the United States.
