Cose da pazzi is a 1953 Italian comedy film directed by GW Pabst with Aldo Fabrizi and Carla Del Poggio in the leading roles.
action
The young Dalia Rossi, who actually only wanted to be admitted to a clinic for heart problems, is mistakenly mistaken for crazy and admitted to a mental hospital with the euphemistic name "Villa Felicità", the "House of Happiness", run by Prof. Ruiz. But right after the first examination, it was stated that Signora Rossi was completely "normal" and healthy. Only this judgment is not important, because the examining psychiatrist is himself crazy and only believes that he is a doctor. As a result, the patients “treated” by him can no longer find their way back in normal life outside the walls of psychiatry. In contrast, the real medic who should examine Dalia is not at all convinced of her "normality" and health. This is followed by a series of bizarre incidents with several twists and turns, until the police finally arrive for an extensive raid. Dalia can finally leave the literal madness behind and is allowed to leave the institution.
Production notes
Cose da pazzi premiered on March 20, 1954. The film, one of the most unknown Pabst productions, was never shown in Germany.
The film structures were created by Franco Lolli .
reception
"Pabst's first production for his newly founded Kronos film was - despite the prominent cast - a failure."
