Liam Twomey
Liam Twomey ( Irish Liam Ó Tuama , born April 3, 1967 in Clonakilty in County Cork ) is an Irish politician.
Twomey attended Trinity College in Dublin and studied medicine. He worked until 2002 as a GP (general practitioner) and was chairman of the Wexford branch of the Irish Medical Organization . In 2002 he was elected as an independent in the Dáil Éireann . As Teachta Dála , he campaigned primarily for health issues and was against a reduction in hospitals.
On September 22, 2004, Twomey joined Fine Gael . However, he was unable to defend his parliamentary mandate in the 2007 elections. Instead, Twomey was elected to the 23rd Seanad Éireann for the Fine Gael . In 2011 he was re-elected as a member of the Dáil.
Twomey is married and has three children.
