Liao Fung-te

Liao Fung-te (born around 1951, † May 10, 2008 in Taipei ) was a Taiwanese politician of the Kuomintang party . He was the interior minister-designate of Taiwan.

Liao earned a Ph. D. from Chengchi National University , initially worked as a writer and published two novels, one of which was made into a television series.

In May 2008, Liao was supposed to take over the post of interior minister under party leader Ma Ying-jeou . However, ten days before he took office, he collapsed with his wife while running. Attempts to resuscitate failed. He died of heart disease.

He was married and had two children.
