Liaohe plain

The Liaohe Plain or Liao He Plain (Liao He pingyuan 辽河 平原 ) forms the southern part of the Northeast China Plain . The watershed to Songhua Jiang (Sungari) is the Songliao fenshuiling ( 松辽 分水岭 ) mountains (literally: "Sungari-Liaohe watershed", in the west of Jilin Province), in the south it borders on the Bohai Sea ( Bo Hai ), in the west to the mountains of Yiwulü Shan ( 医巫闾山 ) and in the east to the Liaodong hill country ( Liaodong jiuling ).

In addition to the eponymous Liao He, larger rivers are the Taizi He ( 太子 河 ), Hun He ( 渾河  /  浑河 , hun2 he2 ), Daling He ( 大 凌河 ), Xiaoling He ( 小凌河 ) and Sha He ( 沙河 ).

In the Liaohe oil field (Liaohe youtian ( 辽河 油田 )) there are large oil and gas deposits . Salt is extracted from the sea .
