Lichen myxoedematosus , from ancient Greek λειχήν leichén 'lichen', μύξα myxa, Latin mucus 'mucus' and ὁοίδημα oedema 'swelling', is a group of very rare skin diseases with lichen-like papules and extensive thickening and hardening of the skin ( pachydermia ).
