The LIGHT CENTRAL light wholesale GmbH is an established in 1983 wholesale for bulbs and lamps based in Middle Franconia Ansbach . After the takeover in 2004, the company belongs to the Würth Group and is represented with 22 branches nationwide. Also, the LIGHT CENTRAL member of the Würth electrical wholesaler, an association of electrical wholesale company in Germany.

history

In 1983 Rudolf Thurner founded Lichtzentrale Thurner GmbH in Nuremberg as an electrical wholesaler. In 2004 the Würth Group took over the company. As part of a restructuring within the Würth Group, from 2005 the company was geared towards the exclusive sale of lights and illuminants. In 2006 the company was renamed LICHTZENTRALE Lichtgroßhandel GmbH and the company headquarters were relocated from Nuremberg to Ansbach . In 2007 and 2008 three new branches were opened in Regensburg, Bensheim and Ulm. In 2011 the department "Light Planning Architecture" was established. A year later, two new branches were opened, this time in Rosenheim and Schweinfurt.

In 2013 the 150th employee was hired and the EUR 100 million turnover mark was reached. In the following years the LICHTZENTRALE brand was modernized and the logo and website were relaunched. In addition, the LICHTZENTRALE Academy for training and further education was founded and further new branches opened. The office in Frankfurt opened its doors and a second branch was opened in Dresden.

The company has had its 200th employee since 2019. LICHTZENTRALE is currently (as of 2020) represented throughout Germany with 22 branches and over 200 employees.

Products

The company specializes in the sale of technical lighting and general living space lighting as well as designer lights, lamps and lighting accessories. In addition, light requirement calculations, energy management and lighting planning are offered as services. The LICHTZENTRALE generates approx. 90% of its turnover from the contract business.

The LICHTZENTRALE has a sales network throughout Germany, which is more extensive in the southern part of Germany and consists of a total of 22 branches.
