history
The original Liebherr crane plant from 1954, which characterizes the Upper Swabian town, was split into two parts in 2012 to improve the organizational structure. The manufacture of gears, slewing bearings, electrical machines and switchgear, now under the generic term "Components" derived from the English, are used in the following Liebherr production areas:
- Earth moving machines
- Open pit equipment
- Maritime applications
- Wind turbines
- Vehicle and aircraft technology
- Traffic engineering
- Machine tools
On an area of 200,000 m², of which 82,000 m² are covered hall space, 1530 employees produce, among other things, 15,000 large diameter bearings and 35,000 gears and winches per year.
