Architecture and history

The two-storey, gable-free half-timbered house was built in 1864 for master miller Heinrich Schönfuß. The building was built by master bricklayer Strube and master carpenter A. Dietel and was part of an entertainment venue with a tobacco shop and bowling alley west of the city of Magdeburg. The building is a so-called rayon house and was subject to the strict building restrictions in the run-up to the Magdeburg Fortress , according to which it had to be possible to demolish the house at short notice. To the east of the elongated property was a windmill and a Göpelwerk .

The framework is designed as a simple bolt-stand construction. Diagonal struts are used in the corner compartments. The compartments are lined with bricks and plastered. The house is covered by a half-hip roof on the street side and otherwise with a gable roof .

In 1898 an entrance bay was added on the east side. At the same time, the overhanging gable construction on the street side was created.

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a historical building under registration number 094 82754 .
