The Liechtenstein-Weg is a 75 km long hiking trail in the Principality of Liechtenstein , which was reopened in May 2019.
description
On the occasion of the “300 Years of the Principality of Liechtenstein” anniversary, the Liechtenstein Trail was designated as a new hiking trail and was officially opened on May 26, 2019 with a large folk festival. The well-signposted route runs from Balzers in the south to Schaanwald in the north or vice versa through the entire territory of the principality. It takes hikers to all eleven Liechtenstein communities and to a total of 147 historical sites and sights. Entry is possible from any municipality. It is recommended to divide the 75 km long route, with an altitude difference of 2000 meters, into five daily stages.
At the same time as the opening of the hiking trail, the associated “LIstory” app was published, which can be downloaded free of charge. The application works with augmented reality content and offers numerous additional information on the points of interest along the route at "experience stations" .
The former ski racer Marco Büchel and Walter Seger, the former president of the Liechtenstein Alpine Club, were won over as protagonists for the marketing of the new hiking trail, and they can be seen in the short official advertising trailer .
Several online hiking magazines have already reported on the new hiking trail on their websites.
