Chamber of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania (lit.Lietuvos Respublikos žemės ūkio rūmai ) is a professional organization of farmers in Lithuania . The Chamber of Agriculture brings together various NGO organizations from the agricultural sector in Lithuania and represents interests in the government of Lithuania and Seimas .

The head office is in Kaunas .

history

From 1921 to 1923 there were meetings of the councils of farmers. With the approval of the Minister of Agriculture Mykolas Krupavičius , the law on the Chamber was drafted. On December 19, 1925, the law ( Žemės ūkio rūmų įstatymas ) was passed. It came into force after it was published by “ Vyriausybės žinios ” on April 21, 1926. In 1929, architect Kārlis Reisons designed the project for the building of the chamber, which he then had built between 1930 and November 1931. In 1991 the chamber was re-established.
