Labor Code (Lithuania)

Labor Code of the Republic of Lithuania ( Lietuvos Respublikos darbo kodeksas , LR DK ) is the Lithuanian Labor Code , adopted on June 4, 2002. It came into force on January 1, 2003 (except for Art. 47, Paragraph 6 on Labor Councils). The predecessor of this code was the Soviet Lithuanian Labor Code of 1971.

The working group on the draft was headed by the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Rimantas Kairelis (the scientific head of the working group was Professor Ipolitas Nekrošius ). Law projects of December 10, 2001 (No. IXP-1268), of February 20, 2002 IXP-1268 (2SP) and of April 23, 2002 were also discussed. The latter draft was adopted on June 4, 2002.

The Lithuanian Labor Code Commentary was drawn up between 2003 and 2004.

structure

The Lithuanian Labor Code consists of 3 parts:

  • Part I - General Regulations
  • Part II - Collective Labor Relations
  • Part III - Individual working relationships.

There are a total of 303 articles as well as the annex to the code (on legal harmonization with EU law).
