Rimantas Kairelis

Rimantas Kairelis (born December 15, 1950 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian politician, Vice Minister .

Life

In 1974, Kairelis completed his degree in business mathematics at the Faculty of Business Cybernetics and Finance at Vilniaus universitetas (VU). From 1974 to 1980 he was a research assistant and from 1980 to 1987 head of the laboratory for research in sociology at VU. From 1977 to 1986 he taught at the Chair of Political Economy . From 1977 to 1980 he studied in the post graduate of VU. From 1987 to 1990 he was director of the Center for Professional Orientation of Lithuania. In 1994 and 1996 he was Vice Minister and then Minister Secretary at the Ministry of Social Affairs in Lithuania . Since August 2009 he has headed the Vilnius office of Vilija Blinkevičiūtė , a member of the European Parliament .

He is married and has a son and a daughter.
