Lieutenant Burton is a realistic Franco-Belgian comic drawn by Liliane and Fred Funcken .

The western series with the cavalry officer Robert Burton as the title hero appeared for the first time in 1962 in the Belgian and French editions of Tintin and in the Dutch version Kuifje . Yves Duval used his stage name Michel Deverchin several times. The thirteen short stories each filled a gap after the westerns Ben Barry and Ringo .

In 1980 Jonas began to issue a first anthology. In 2011, Hibou published a two-volume complete edition in the Traits pour traits series .
