from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lärmliga Schweiz (formerly: Swiss League Against Noise, SLL) is a Swiss club that has been campaigning for a quieter environment since its foundation on August 22, 1956.

The work of the personalities in the time after the founding of the league, including Otto Schenker-Sprüngli , Karl Oftinger , Hans Huber, Willi Furrer , Otto Spühler as well as the politicians Federal Councilor Markus Feldmann , Councilor of States Rudolf Stüssi and National Councilor Philipp Schmid-Ruedin were the trigger for the state noise abatement in Switzerland. The establishment of an acoustics / noise abatement department at Empa in Dübendorf can be traced back to the activities of the Lärmliga, with the task of devoting itself to research and advice on questions of noise abatement. The Federal Noise Protection Ordinance LSV can be described as the most important result of the activities of the Lärmliga, which in Switzerland forms the legal basis for noise abatement on the basis of the USG Environmental Protection Act.

At the 50th anniversary in 2006, the association looked back on many advances in noise abatement . The Lärmliga continues to campaign for noise abatement at all levels, including the political one. It provides news, information and specialist knowledge and gives advice and support to noise victims.
