Willi Furrer

Willi Furrer (born August 7, 1906 in Lucerne ; † March 28, 1985 ) was a Swiss electrical engineer who did pioneering work in the field of acoustics .

Life

In 1933 Furrer joined the PTT General Management in Bern , where he became head of the research and testing institute. He was involved in setting up the Swiss radio and television studios.

Willi Furrer completed his habilitation in 1941 at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich . There he held lectures on room and building acoustics as a titular professor until 1976. He was also a member of the League Against Noise .

His book on room and building acoustics was a standard work for a long time.
