biography

Due to the sparse data, it can only be understood that López was under contract with Atlante in the 1955/56 season and then (from 1956 to at least 1959) went on a goal hunt for Irapuato .

He made his debut in the Mexican national team in a game played against Costa Rica (1-1) on February 26, 1956, which was played as part of the Pan American Championship , in which he participated in all five games of the Mexicans. López played two more international matches in October 1957 against Costa Rica, in which it was a question of qualifying for the 1958 World Cup . The Ticos proved to be extremely tough opponents and could only be defeated 2-0 in the first leg in Mexico with two late goals. The second goal in the 86th minute was scored by Ligorio López and he also managed the opening goal in the second leg, which ended 1-1. The participation in the World Cup was largely thanks to his goals. Nevertheless, the game played on October 27, 1957 in Costa Rica was also his departure from the national team. Although he was appointed to the Mexican World Cup squad , he was not used there.
