Lily King

Lily King (* 1963 in the USA ) is an American author and university professor .

Life

King grew up in Massachusetts and earned a bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill . After graduating from Syracuse University with a Masters of Arts degree in Creative Writing , she taught English literature and creative writing at various North American universities and high schools.

In 1995 her first collection of short stories came out as a book. This has been followed by four novels so far (2015), some of which have been awarded prizes. Other short stories have been published in magazines such as Plowshares or Glimmer Train and in anthologies .

King is a Fellow of the MacDowell Colony .
