Limanja

Limanja is a German-Turkish music band from Ludwigsburg , Germany. The band name is derived from "grup-Liman", which means something like "The band from the harbor" in Turkish.

Musical style

Limanja plays pop and rock music - depending on the song, with influences from funk, reggae or ska. The characteristic, however, is the oriental influence through the Saz - the Turkish long-necked lute and the Turkish singing. Due to these elements, the band in Germany can be classified more in the direction of world music, ethno and urban.

Members

The founding members of Limanja from 2010 are Nazim Sabuncuoglu (vocals and guitar), Hüseyin Temiz (Saz), Robert Wittmaier (drums), Stephan Schelens (bass) and Deniz Dag (violin). The current line-up looks like this:
