The Lind Glacier is a glacier on the Graham Coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows from Alencar Peak in a westerly direction to the southern part of Collins Bay .
The glacier was discovered during the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908–1910) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1959 after the Scottish doctor James Lind (1716–1794), who in 1755 had recognized lemon juice as an effective means of combating scurvy .
