Linda Kouvaras
Linda Kouvaras (* 1960 ) is an Australian pianist , composer and musicologist .
Life
Kourvaras studied piano in the UK in 1984 . In 1986, she received her associate degree in 1988 her Bachelor and 1991 the master . In 1996 she earned a Ph.D. in musicology . Her teachers included Ronald Farren-Price , Max Cooke , Brenton Broadstock , Naomi Cumming , Malcolm Gillies, and David Goodman . She initially composed for punk and new wave groups . She was then several times Artist in Residence at the Arthur & Yvonne Boyd Education Center in Bundanon. From 2005 to 2007 she researched postmodern music. She is considered a nationally recognized expert on contemporary Australian music. Since 1993 she has worked as a lecturer at the University of Melbourne and Australian Catholic University .
