Linley's Dungeon Crawl is a rogue-like computer game published by Linley Henzell in 1997 . The latest stable version is 4.00b26 from March 2003, a 4.1 alpha version has been available since July 2005. There is also the well-engineered graphic development Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup . Crawl is under an open source license and is available for MS-DOS , Windows , macOS , Linux and other operating systems.

Dungeon Crawl offers both very differentiated role-play elements and a game characterized by tough tactical battles. The level of difficulty is usually a challenge even for experienced rogue-like players. In the game, 26 races in 28 classes under twelve religions (or as atheists ) hunt for the legendary Orb of Zot in a deep dungeon . The magic system is also very rich and offers specializations in the schools of elemental magic and a number of other disciplines such as necromancy and translocation.

Unlike z. B. NetHack is to crawl but not very wide, studded with exceptions of rules required. What is more typical is the synergistic interaction of the adventurer's chosen characteristics.
