Lisa Brüggemann

Lisa Brüggemann (after marriage Brüggemann-Bratke) (born December 29, 1984 in Offenbach am Main ) is a former German gymnast .

Career

She started for the Toyota Cologne gymnastics team and was trained by Shanna Poljakowa and her father Gerd-Peter Brüggemann, Professor of Biomechanics at the German Sport University in Cologne.

In 1998 she received the title of German youth champion in five disciplines: all-around , uneven bars , floor , balance beam and jump . Between 2001 and 2004 Brüggemann won a total of six German individual championship titles: 2001 in the floor discipline , 2003 in the balance beam discipline and 2004 in the four disciplines all-around , uneven bars , balance beam and floor . In addition, she was runner-up in the following disciplines: balance beam (2001), all-around , jump and floor (2003) and jump (2004). In 2004 she took part in the Olympic Games in Athens .

Because Brüggemann began studying human medicine in 2005, she reduced the scope of her training. In mid-2007 Brüggemann ended her career after she had won her eighth German team championship with the Toyota Cologne gymnastics team.

Brüggemann lives in Cologne .
