General
Eschede is 17 kilometers northeast of Celle . First mentioned in a document in 1065, Eschede is one of the oldest villages in the area. Eschede became famous through the ICE accident in 1998.

Habighorst
The place Habigshorst is about 2 kilometers south of Eschede. The place is mentioned for the first time in 1291. The farms of the village are on both banks of the Aschau.

Shaft system | The mine was built in 1910. Potash and rock salt were mined here. The system was connected to the Mariaglück mine in Höfer. The plant was put into operation in 1916 and shut down again in 1924. From then on, it served as a reserve cableway for the Mariaglück mine. On the other side of Kreisstraße 34, the Habighorster Höhe settlement was built after the Second World War.

Archaeological monument, "tracks" | several parallel, deeply driven lanes (up to 1 m) to the ford through the Quarmbach, the formerly important trade route to Celle. The ford was used at least until the end of the 18th century. Partly destroyed by road construction and the creation of fish ponds. | 28924801 |
Hofer
Höfer was first mentioned in 1275. Eleven farms have been occupied since the 15th century. Today's clustered village was probably built at the time of the Thirty Years War. With the construction of the shaft in 1911, the village grew rapidly. In 1905 there were 129 people living here, compared to 325 in 1925.
