The honorary citizenship is the highest municipal award of town Miesbach . It has been awarded since the introduction of the municipal code in Bavaria in 1869. So far, 21 people have been made honorary citizens.

The community of Wies also granted honorary citizenship until it was incorporated into Miesbach.
