List of the inquiry commissions of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament

The list of inquiry commissions of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament includes the inquiry commissions that the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia has set up since 1995. At the request of a third of the members of the NRW state parliament, a study commission is set up. There should be a maximum of four per legislative period. The respective final report should be available two years after the commission's appointment, at the latest by the end of the electoral term.

Since 1995 there have been 15 study commissions (as of April 30, 2018) on the following topics (in brackets the duration from the establishment to the final report or the final state parliament debate on the same):

  1. Future of gainful employment in NRW (1995–1999)
  2. Future of Mobility in North Rhine-Westphalia (1996-2000)
  3. Future of the cities in NRW (2000-2004)
  4. Future of women-friendly health care in NRW (2000-2004)
  5. Situation and future of care in NRW (2002-2005)
  6. Effects of long-term sharp increases in the prices of oil and gas imports on the economy and consumers in North Rhine-Westphalia (2005–2008)
  7. Opportunities for Children (2005–2008)
  8. Development of proposals for an effective prevention policy in NRW (2008-2010)
  9. Housing change and new financial investors on the housing markets in NRW (2010-2013)
  10. Future of the chemical industry in North Rhine-Westphalia with regard to sustainable raw material bases, products and production processes (2012-2015)
  11. Assessment of the sustainability of public budgets in North Rhine-Westphalia (2013–2015)
  12. Future of Family Policy in North Rhine-Westphalia (2014-2017)
  13. Financing options for public transport in North Rhine-Westphalia in the context of social and technical change (2014-2017)
