This list includes all the governors of Danish West India .

Governors of St. Thomas

The West India Guinea Company bought St. Thomas in 1672.

Governors of St. Thomas and St. Jan

The West India Guinea Company had been claiming St. Jan since 1683 and colonized the island in 1718.

Governors of St. Croix

Saint Croix was bought by the French West India Company in 1733 .

  • Gregers Høg Nissen , interim manager for St. Croix (February 24, 1736 - April 16, 1744)
  • Paul Lindemark , interim manager for St. Croix (April 16, 1744 - May 15, 1747)
  • Jens Hansen , Governor of St. Croix (May 15, 1747 - December 1751)
  • Peter Clausen , Governor of St. Croix (December 1751 - 1758)

In 1755 the Danish West Indies were sold to Frederick V by the West India Guinea Company and thus became a crown colony. St. Croix was then headed by the Governor General of Danish West India.

Crown Colony Governors

Danish West Indies was sold to the United States on December 12, 1916 , and transferred to the United States on March 31, 1917. The first governor of the Americans was Edwin Taylor Pollock .
