Frederik Ludvig Christian Pentz Rosenørn

Frederik Ludvig Christian Pentz Rosenorn (* 13. October 1781 on katholm castle ; † 16th August 1834 in Hamburg ) was a Danish lawyer and governor of St. Thomas and St. John .

Life

Rosenorn came paternal the letter Adelsgeschlecht Rosenorn ; he was the fourth child of Mathias Peder Otto Rosenørn, a lieutenant colonel in the cavalry, and his wife Edel Benedicte, née von Pentz.

Rosenørn began his studies in 1798 and finished it in 1802 as cand. Jur. A year later he became a trainee in a law firm, another year later he became a sub-chancellery. In 1805 he became legal secretary at the West Indian regional supreme court. In 1807 he became assessor and in 1814 legal counsel at the same court. In 1815 he was also chief of police in Christiansted , in 1816 judicial councilor and member of the government over the West Indies. In 1823 he became first councilor and in 1830 governor of St. Thomas and St. Jan.

On July 8, 1812, Rosenørn married Anna Juditha Poyen de Lance (September 30, 1795 - October 29, 1853) in St. Croix. The marriage resulted in eight children, all except Marie Louise born in St. Croix.
