Christiansted, US Virgin Islands , is a small town on Saint Croix , one of the islands of the American Virgin Islands that are part of the unincorporated outer territory of the United States .
history
The city was founded in 1733 by the Danish general Frederick Moth . It was named after King Christian VI. named by Denmark . Christiansted was for a time the capital of Saint Croix and the Danish West Indies .
In 2000 the city had 2637 inhabitants. In 2004 about 3000 people lived there.

The football club Unique FC Christianstedt is based in the city. The club plays in the St. Croix Soccer League , the regional soccer championship of Saint Croix.

Many radio stations have settled in Christiansted, for example WJKC Isle 95.1 which broadcasts in the form of Carribean, and a Top 40 station broadcasts under the name WVIQ . The names show that they use the USA system, in which each station begins with a W followed by three more letters.
