  • On July 28th / 10th August 1916, the Sultan confirmed the resolution of the Ottoman Ministry of Religion and Justice to merge the Catholics of Aghtamar and Sis (Cilicia) , to dissolve the Patriarchates of Constantinople and Jerusalem and to assign Jerusalem as the new seat of the "Catholicos Patriarch" of all Ottoman Armenian Sahag II
