List of craters of the Earth's moon
Official names of structures on celestial bodies are given by the International Astronomical Union (IAU). The lists are administered by the US Geological Survey (USGS) in the Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature (see web links). They are updated online. There are currently some changes in the biographical information about the namesake of lunar craters , as several authors are preparing books on lunar observers and encounter discrepancies in old publications. One example is the question of who gave the moon crater Kinau its name.
The last new additions included in the list are from August 2, 2010.
