List of natural monuments in Hattingen

The list of natural monuments in Hattingen contains the natural monuments in Hattingen , Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis .

According to Section 28 of the Federal Nature Conservation Act (BNatschG), natural monuments are legally binding individual creations of nature or corresponding areas of up to five hectares that require special protection

  1. for scientific, natural history or cultural reasons or
  2. because of their rarity, peculiarity or beauty.

The removal of the natural monument and all actions that could lead to the destruction, damage or alteration of the natural monument are prohibited in accordance with the more detailed provisions.

For the area of ​​the Ennepe-Ruhr district, four landscape plans were drawn up in accordance with Section 16, Paragraph 3 of the Landscape Act (LG), which cover the entire district:

3.3.8 Common ash (Fraxinus excelsior) Hattingen, Winz area, on property no. 104 on Königsteiner Straße on the meadow behind the courtyard building. Free-standing tree with a particularly beautiful crown and a trunk circumference of 277 cm.
3.3.9 Quarry in Hattingen Winzermark area, between Buschstrasse and Kohlenstrasse. Abandoned quarry, total length of the rock walls approx. 300 m, height approx. 20 m. The quarry floor is used as a site for the Keßler recycling company. The outcrop is characterized in more detail in the GeoschOb cadastre of the LÖLF under no. 4608-027.
3.3.10 Quarry in Hattingen Winzermark area, on Tippelstrasse. Abandoned quarry with rock faces of approx. 130 m length and 15-20 m height with geologically significant stone formations. The quarry floor is used as the operating area of ​​the Siepmann hard coal factory. In the back there is a pond with amphibian deposits. The exposure is characterized in more detail in the GeoschOb cadastre of the LÖLF under no. 4608-028.
3.3.11 Quarry in Hattingen on Isenbergstrasse. Area size approx. 3,000 m². Abandoned quarry with a height of approx. 20 m. Significant exposure of the Sprockhövel strata. The outcrop is characterized in more detail in the GeoschOb cadastre of the LÖLF under no. 4608-007.
3.3.12 Common beech (Fagus sylvatica) Hattingen, Isenberg in front of the former manor house on the castle ruins. Free-standing tree in an exposed position with a trunk circumference of 397 cm.
3.3.13 Opening in Hattingen Isenberg am Burgfried next to the open-air theater. The rock wall with a clearly recognizable sequence of layers is approx. 90 m long and approx. 15 m high. Due to its exposed location next to the castle ruins and open-air stage, the outcrop offers a good insight into geological history.
3.3.14 Upcoming sandstone in Hattingen northwest of Schulenbergstrasse on a long ridge. Area size approx. 1.3 ha. The bizarre sandstone formation is limited by paths, the largest part is overgrown with oak, beech and Ilex. The special character of this sandstone formation should be emphasized.
3.3.15 Two upcoming sandstone formations Hattingen, Sünsbruch area on a ridge. The formations with a clearly recognizable sequence of layers are approx. 150 and 130 m long.
3.3.16 Quarry in Hattingen Hattingen-Bredenscheid, north of the street "Im Lichtenbruch". The rock face with a length of approx. 100 m and a height of approx. 15 m represents a section of the upper Sprockhövel strata. The quarry floor is partially filled and is mostly used as a commercial area. The exposure is characterized in more detail in the GeoschOb cadastre of the LÖLF under no. 4609-003.
3.3.17 Two beeches standing next to each other (Fagus sylvatica atropunicea) Hattingen-Blankenstein in the "Maze" on the circular route in the southern part of the park. The trees with trunk circumferences of 306 and 317 cm are dominant elements in the park.
3.3.18 Copper beech (Fagus sylvatica atropunicea) Hattingen at the Kemnade house, south of the farmhouse. Free-standing tree with a mighty crown and a trunk circumference of 313 cm.
