List of regiments of the Swabian Reichskreis

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Swabian Imperial Circle consisted of a large number of medium-sized and small imperial estates, but as the "Vorderer Reichkreis" was one of the most important imperial circles alongside the Franconian Imperial Circle. The circle was also divided into different Catholic and Lutheran classes.

Although the individual Swabian district regiments consisted of confessionally and territorially different contingents, they remained in their regimental structures from 1683, with only a few changes.

The numbering of the infantry regiments (No.) refers to the regiments that existed almost throughout the 18th century. It did not officially exist.
