Karl Gustav of Baden-Durlach

Karl Gustav Prince of Baden-Durlach (born September 27, 1648 in Durlach , † October 24, 1703 at Karlsburg in Durlach) was a German officer, most recently in the rank of general. He was the son of Friedrich VI. , Margrave of Baden-Durlach, and Christine Magdalena von Pfalz-Zweibrücken-Kleeburg .

Within the Swabian Empire , he was the owner of the Evangelical District Regiment on Foot (1673–1677) and from 1683 of the II. District Regiment on Foot (ev.). In 1683, as general sergeant on foot, he was also supreme commander of the district troops. In 1686 he became Lieutenant General Field Marshal on foot in the Swabian Empire, in 1692 Generalfeldzeugmeister (infantry) and in 1697 General Field Marshal .

Margrave Karl Gustav married Anna Sophie von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel on October 28, 1677 (born October 29, 1659 - June 28, 1742), the daughter of Duke Anton Ulrich von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel . The following children were born from the marriage:

  • Juliane (September 12, 1678; † July 10, 1707), married Johann Wilhelm von Sachsen-Eisenach on February 27, 1697 (October 17, 1666; † January 4, 1729)
