from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of schools on Aruba includes all schools on the island (as of 12/2014).

description

The education system in Aruba provides for general compulsory schooling from the age of 4 to 18, of which at least the age of 16 must attend school. At the age of five, the children normally start primary school (Scol Basico). At the request of the parents, the child can also go to school at the age of four if it passes the preliminary examination. This happens very often in practice. The schools are generally open to students of all denominations. The small island state is home to residents from around 90 nationalities. There are 34 schools and two universities in Aruba. Primary school language is Dutch and since 2004 Papiamento . In addition to the basic languages, classes in Spanish and English are also offered.

All schools finish with an exam. In 2010 there were 21,848 students, ages 5-19, in Aruba.
