List of Lieutenant Governors of Pondicherry

The following table lists the lieutenant governors of Puducherry and their respective terms of office. The former French colonial area was de facto annexed by India in 1954 and has been de jure Indian territory since 1962. In 1963 it became an Indian Union Territory . Until 1954 Puducherry was headed by a French governor-general, from 1954 to 1963 by an Indian chief commissioner and since 1963 a lieutenant governor.
