Kewalram Ratanmal Malkani

Kewalram Ratanmal Malkani (born November 19, 1921 in Hyderabad , Sindh in what is now Pakistan , † October 27, 2003 in Pondicherry ) was an Indian author , journalist and politician .

Life

Malkani was educated in Hyderabad, Pune , Karachi , Mumbai and at Harvard University . Malkani has been associated with the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (Indian People's Party) since it was founded in 1951 and was one of the founding members of the Bharatiya Janata Party , the BJP, in 1980 . From 1994 to 2000 he was a member of the Rajya Sabha , the upper house of the Indian parliament. In 2002 and 2003 Malkani was Vice Governor of the Indian Union Territory of Pondicherry .

Malkani was the editor of various newspapers and from 1978 to 1979 General Secretary of the Editors Guild of India.
