The Gazipaşa Airport ( Turkish Gazipaşa - Alanya Havalimanı ) is located in the same district town of the province of Antalya in Turkey , about 40 kilometers southeast of Alanya .

The airport ( IATA abbreviation: GZP) was built in 1999, but its runway was too short for international flights. The opening originally planned for 2008 has been postponed several times, test operations commenced in 2009 and domestic flights to Istanbul in July 2010. International flight operations from the Netherlands began in May 2011, although it has long been doubted whether the airport in Gazipaşa is even suitable for this.

Airlines and Destinations

As of April 2019, the following destinations are being flown to:
airline Destination
Turkish Airlines Istanbul
AnadoluJet

(operated by Turkish Airlines )

Ankara-Esenboğa
Pegasus Airlines Istanbul-Sabiha Gokcen
Azerbaijan Airlines Baku *
Pobeda Moscow-Vnukovo *
Azure Air Moscow-Vnukovo *
Finnair Helsinki-Vantaa *
SAS Scandinavian Airlines Copenhagen-Kastrup *, Oslo *, Stockholm-Arlanda *

Turkish Airlines flew to its old home airport, Istanbul-Ataturk, until April 2019 .

* = Destination is only served seasonally.

Flight cancellations

A press report before the opening expected frequent flight cancellations, as take-offs from Gazipaşa are only possible towards the sea. If the wind from the mountains blows at more than 30 km / h, international flights are not possible, passengers would then have to be brought to the airport in Antalya in an approx.
