Pobeda ( Russian Победа 'victory' ) is a Russian low-cost airline , a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aeroflot and, as such, the successor company of Dobrolet Airlines .

history

Pobeda began flight operations on December 1, 2014 between Moscow and Volgograd .

A regulation stating that Russian airlines had to fly domestic routes for two years before they were allowed to go to destinations abroad was changed especially for Pobeda; The change allows the subsidiaries of international airlines to travel to foreign destinations immediately. The number of passengers grew accordingly by 38 percent in 2016, especially after foreign low-cost airlines withdrew from Russia and Pobeda had the low-cost market practically unrivaled.

In 2015 the airline was number 7 in Russia, in 2016 it was the sixth largest in the country.

The flight schedule in January 2019 comprised 27 weekly departures from St. Petersburg to other countries and in terms of passenger volume, the company had moved to fourth place behind Aeroflot, S7 and Rossija .
