The Volgograd airport ( Russian Международный Аэропорт Волгоград , English Volgograd International Airport or Gumrak Airport ) is an airport of Volgograd in Russia .

The airport is located 21 km northwest of Volgograd city center.
history
During the Battle of Stalingrad, the Gumrak makeshift airfield was located on the site and was occupied by the 6th Army of the Wehrmacht until January 21, 1943 . In 1968 a Tu-124 crashed on Aeroflot flight 3153 while taking off, killing one of its occupants.
The tower (TWR) sends and receives on the frequency : 128.0 MHz . The airport has various navigation aids. The non-directional radio beacon (NDB) transmits on the frequency: 325 kHz with the identifier: WG .

Various charter airlines fly from Volgograd, especially in the summer flight schedule, to various destinations in the Mediterranean, Red Wings Airlines flies regularly to Antalya, among others.
